About Us

EDGE (Middle School)
EDGE is St. Andrew's faith formation program for 7th and 8th graders. It serves as both a time for catechesis and faith formation, as well as a time of fellowship and service.

EDGE follows a two-year curriculum. One year focuses on Tradition and Beliefs of our faith and the other year focuses on Sacred Scripture. For the 2011-2012 school year, we are focusing on Sacred Scripture.

Besides our weekly meetings on Sunday from 3:30-5:00pm, EDGE offers numerous social events and service opportunities. In the past, social events have included Whirlyball, barbecues, movie outings, and more! Service projects include a Food Fast for Catholic Relief Services and a 3-day Mission Camp during the summer, as well as our annual EDGE Service Day.

Credo (High School)
Credo is St. Andrew's faith formation program and youth group for high school students. Credo focuses on the four pillars of Catholic faith formation: know, love, serve, and celebrate. The program rotates through each of those four pillars, focusing on a different one each week. Credo follows the guidelines for high school faith formation put out by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and follows the Life Teen format.

Credo takes place on Sundays following the 5:30pm Mass, from 6:30-8:45pm.

Confirmation Preparation (9th-10th Grade)
St. Andrew's Confirmation Preparation program is a fifteen month program that begins in 9th grade and meets every-other-Sunday (during the school year) after the 5:30pm Mass, from 6:30-8:45pm. Weeks that Confirmation preparation does not meet, Confirmation students are highly encouraged to attend Credo.

Teen Mass
Every-other-Sunday during the school year, the 5:30pm Mass is a "teen Mass." At this Mass, teens serve as ushers, servers, lectors, and EMs. The teen Mass also has contemporary music, led by St. Andrew's Teen Band. For dates of teen Masses, check the calendar.

Retreat Opportunities
St. Andrew's high school youth ministry hosts two retreats each year for high school youth: one in November and one in March. Each of these retreats includes great talks, sharings, prayer time, Adoration, Mass, small groups, skits, games, yummy food, and so much more! Our adult Core Team and our Teen Leadership Team plan all of our retreats.

Our Fall Retreat is held at Camp FaHoLo in Grass Lake, while our Spring Retreat is held at Bethany House retreat center in DeWitt. (Fr. Gordon currently serves at Bethany House on weekends!)

We offer an additional retreat opportunity each summer -- an annual trip to a Steubenville Youth Conference at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in southern Ohio. Steubenville Youth Conferences started three decades ago, and have now spread to be held nationwide, attracting over 40,000 teens across 18 conferences. Each Conference features live music, talks, Adoration, Confession, Mass, small groups, and all the other things you've come to expect from a St. Andrew's retreat -- only on a large scale!

Eucharistic Adoration
St. Andrew's offers Eucharistic Adoration each Thursday from 7am-9pm during the school year. The teens of St. Andrew are the committed Adorers for the final 8-9pm hour of this time. All teens, families, and parishioners are invited to join us each week for contemplative music, Scripture, and of course, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Adoration takes place in the Day Chapel.
