About Us

Life Teen
St. Andrew LIFE is a Life Teen program. We are sacramental, Christ-centered, and totally Catholic! Our Teen Masses take place the first and third Sunday of each month during the school year at 5:30 P.M. LIFE Nights take place every Sunday after the 5:30 Mass. LIFE is a time for learning about our faith, sharing with others, fun, fellowship, music, food, and prayer. We talk about things that matter most to teens! Life Nights end around 8:30.

LIFE follows the eight semester curriculum put out by Life Teen International, a curriculum that follows the USCCB's guidelines for high school catechesis. But LIFE isn't all about learning! There's always time for prayer, discussion with peers, and time to socialize! All high school students are welcome!

Confirmation Preparation
The St. Andrew Confirmation Preparation Program is offered to students in 9th grade or older. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 P.M. to 9:15 P.M in the Parish Hall. We are currently using the Oneight program from Life Teen. To find a full description of our program, look at the Confirmation overview page.

Retreats
Fall Retreat 2009
Fall Retreat 2009
St. Andrew's high school youth ministry hosts two retreats each year for high school youth: one in November and one in March. Each of these retreats includes great talks, sharings, prayer time, Adoration, Mass, small groups, skits, games, yummy food, and so much more! Our adult Core Team and our Teen Leadership Team plan all of our retreats.

Our Fall Retreat is held at Camp FaHoLo in Grass Lake, while our Spring Retreat is held at Bethany House retreat center in DeWitt. (Fr. Gordon currently serves at Bethany House on weekends!)

In addition, our Confirmation team of small group leaders and BIG FISH plans the annual Confirmation retreat, The Road to Emmaus, in January. This retreat is a required part of our Confirmation Preparation program, and is specifically tailored to the Confirmation candidates. Each Road to Emmaus retreat is different and is always the pinnacle of the preparation process for students. This retreat is held at Bethany House.

Steubenville Youth Conference
2011 Steubie: Rooted We offer an additional retreat opportunity each summer -- an annual trip to a Steubenville Youth Conference at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in southern Ohio. Steubenville Youth Conferences started three decades ago, and have now spread to be held nationwide, attracting over 40,000 teens across 18 conferences. Each Conference features live music, talks, Adoration, Confession, Mass, small groups, and all the other things you've come to expect from a St. Andrew's retreat -- only on a large scale!

Adoration
St. Andrew's offers Eucharistic Adoration each Thursday from 7am-9pm during the school year. The teens of St. Andrew are the committed Adorers for the final 8-9pm hour of this time. All teens, families, and parishioners are invited to join us each week for contemplative music, Scripture, and of course, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Adoration takes place in the Day Chapel.

Summer Events
Each summer, we hold many events on weeknights. In the past, some of these offerings have included Men's and Women's groups, Bible studies, upperclassmen groups, and more. Be sure to check the bulletin and website all summer for the latest events!
