Regulations on Fasting and Abstinence
All Catholics aged 14+ are obliged to abstain from meat on Good Friday.
Catholics ages 18-59 are obliged to fast on Good Friday. Fasting means limiting oneself to one meal on a fast day. When necessary two smaller meals are permitted to maintain strength, however these should not exceed the amount of a full meal. Moreover, eating solid foods between meals on fast days is not permitted.
